YEPresent @ Liquid Lunch – April 2013

Spring is finally upon us! Join YEP for our first Spring YEPresent on April 11th at Liquid Lunch on Research Drive in Shelton.

As some of you probably know, the Liquid Lunch on Research Drive is inside a corporate building on the lower level. That means there is plenty of parking! There is plenty of space inside the restaurant and the food is amazing.

This event is sure be fun, so don’t miss out. And don’t forget to bring your business cards!

Do some Spring cleaning! As you might have heard, My Sister’s Place has recently lost a great deal of their inventory due to smoke damage. Please take a few moments to look through your closets and kitchens and gather some items that are in good condition that you no longer need.

We will be collecting these items during our YEPresent to be donated to My Sister’s Place. Some items they need include clothing, jewelry, cups, plates, flatware, and other housewares.

Pedal for PCRC Race to Benefit Valley Families

July 13th, 2012 by Alexis

PCRCThis Sunday, July 15th is the Pedal for PCRC race. This is a community friendly cycling event which begins in the PerkinElmer parking lot (710 Bridgeport Ave, Shelton) and tours throughout the Valley. Participants can register to cycle for 15, 30 or 62 miles. The fundraising deadline is September 1, 2012.

The Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center has been serving families since 1975. They are the leading provider of behavioral health services to children and families in the Lower Naugatuck Valley and surrounding towns, serving more than 1,200 children each year, including many who suffer from serious behavioral and emotional problems, trauma, abuse, and neglect. Through a comprehensive range of programs – Clinical, Family Support, Early Childhood and Community Partnerships – they help these children and their families overcome these emotional and behavioral hardships.

This signature event will lead the way with positive mental and behavioral health for kids in our community. The money participants raise will support funding for the PCRC’s state of the art mental health and behavioral programs for kids and families in the Valley and surrounding towns.

Please think about participating in the race for team YEP, donating to the YEP page, or volunteering for the event. Donations can be given by clicking the link below:

Register Now for Bocce and the 5K at the Community Corporate Cup

May 24th, 2012 by Sean Henri

Registration for bocce is due on June 1 and can be completed on the Valley United Way Website. We may have to limit the number of teams from any one company for this event due to space limitations, so it is very important that you don’t miss the deadline for registration!

Registration for the Run/Walk is June 8. Keep in mind that we cannot extend that deadline. The Corporate Cup is just part of a bigger Y race, and we don’t want to end up with problems and confusion with the timer and the Y’s own registration system. Click here to register now.

The Young Emerging Professionals will be selling water and sports drinks during the Corporate Cup bocce event. 100% of the proceeds will support the Griffin Hospitals Breast Wellness Center.

There will be plenty of food and drinks available as part of the Run/Walk.
